ALIEN SE

Privacy policy

This policy covers alienseo.com.au, operated by Angus Lewington trading as Alien SEO, ABN 32 385 519 280. It explains what personal information the site collects, why, and how to ask about it. It was last reviewed on 4 September 2026.

What the contact form collects

The form on the contact page asks for your name, email address and message. Phone, website address, what you sell and where, and a monthly budget band are all optional. The form also carries an automated spam check that a person filling it in normally never sees or interacts with.

What analytics collects

This site uses Google Analytics (GA4), which records pages viewed, an approximate location from your IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. It does not receive your name, email or message unless you submit the form.

Why it is collected

To reply to enquiries, to understand which pages help visitors and which need fixing, and to run the business.

Who sees it

Angus reads every enquiry directly. Twilio, a transactional email provider, carries the message from the form to the inbox and does not use it for anything else. Every request to this site passes through Cloudflare, which provides security and performance services and can see standard connection details such as your IP address. Akismet, run by Automattic, checks each message for spam; it briefly receives your name, email, message, IP address and browser details for that purpose only. When enabled, a short alert with your name and email may also reach a notification tool Angus uses, so he sees a new enquiry sooner. Google processes analytics data under its own privacy terms, and nobody buys or resells this information.

How long it is kept

Enquiry details are kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond and for ordinary business records, then deleted. Analytics data follows Google Analytics' own retention settings, which can be shortened on request.

Security

The contact form runs over an encrypted connection and includes automated checks to filter spam before a message reaches an inbox. Angus is the only person with access to enquiry emails.
